ENTITY RESOLUTION CASE STUDY

In an engagement with a media company that had recently undergone a merger, we matched heterogeneous data that existed in the main companies and acquired companies CRM systems. We identified matched records and non-overlapping records. We worked with the client to develop a reconciliation and quality control process. The data was successfully loaded into a new master CRM. The matching data covered 50% of all records. 25% was unmatched and unique to one or the other of the data sources. The remaining 25% was matched but of uncertain quality and require human investigation. In-company checking revealed the matching data had a positive error rate of 1.4 percent, and the unmatched data had a false positive rate of 4 percent. Clear procedures were developed to handle error cases post integration. The client considered this an excellent result and would repeat the engagement upon further mergers.

CUSTOMER EDA TOOL CASE STUDY

A client was in a situation where they had a large number of product lines; each had their own idiosyncratic design artifact versioning system. There was no standard on how projects were laid out, no project templates, nor rules on how artifacts such as BOM were versioned or stored. In most cases, if you wanted any design artifact, you had to talk to the project manager in charge. After an ad-hoc gap analysis, it was decided to build a custom tool, which would manage and standardize what objects were to be versioned and the layout of the versioning directory structure. We designed and delivered a web tool that automatically generates and managing design projects. On completion, it was possible to find any essential design items created using this tool.
